Please send us a photo copy of the vaccine records before your first appointment and as updated. You may send a text photo or via email to Suds.styles@gmail.com
Appointments may be declined, rescheduled, or canceled if proof of vaccination is not received before the visit.
By PA law, dogs shall be vaccinated against rabies within 4 weeks after the date the dog attains 12 weeks of age, and maintain a current Rabies immunity as prescribed by Rabies vaccine manufacturers.
If your dog can not get these due to a previous reaction, please supply a note from the vet. I also accept titers with a note from your vet.
If your pet comes in with fleas (and/or ticks), I will automatically bathe with a Flea shampoo to kill what is currently on them and that fee will be added to your bill. If you know your dog has fleas prior to your appointment, please give me a heads up so we can plan accordingly.
It is fairly common to find pre-existing conditions that become apparent only when the matted coat is removed. We will always bring anything we notice to the owner’s attention. Suds & Styles cannot diagnose conditions but may advise that the owner seek veterinary care for their pet.
Matted coats and mat removal can cause the following problems but not limited to:
- As mats get tighter, they eventually pull out of the skin, causing bald spots and sore skin.
- Mats inhibit proper air circulation to the skin causing increased body heat in these areas. This creates an ideal environment for many skin related health problems (hotspots, bacterial/fungal infections, etc.)
- Skin pulling results in chafing and abrasion over time and cause pain when you pet moves.
- Working so closely to the skin increases the risk for stress, trauma, or injury. All precautions will be taken however; some problems may arise such as nicks, clipper irritation, etc.
- Mats create an ideal environment for parasites such as fleas & ticks. If either is found, we will give a Flea/tick bath. *Additional fees apply.
- Ear bruising (hematomas) due to excessive head shaking after removal of mats.
- Sunburn if your dog is kept outside for long periods of time after removal of mats. Prevention of this includes, Pet sunscreen, skin coverage (pet clothes), and reduced time outside.
We will be happy to show you the necessary tools needed and how to care for your pet’s coat so that matting does not occur.
Owners are responsible for disclosing any known medical conditions, behavioral concerns, pain points, limitations, or special handling needs prior to the appointment so the groom can be adapted appropriately.
*Since grooming is specialized for each individual pet, prices may vary. Please call or message for an estimate. *
